2021.12.03 22:44 spacebunnyb Two new piercings today (septum and nostril) and.. wow. The septum is obviously WAY too low. Plus, isn’t it improper to put a hoop in a new piercing? I’m so confused, because this is a professional shop, they’ve done hundreds of piercings. I don’t know what to do.

2021.12.03 22:44 Taylor_notswift Anyone take Marla Ripoll for Macro?
Im currently in her class and got my second midterm back and didn't do as well as i thought i would have (obviously my fault not hers, she's an amazing professor) i was just wondering if she ends up curving any grades or even the final grade? I know she drops certain quizzes and homework's but wasn't sure i heard her talk about any curving.
Thanks in advance!

2021.12.03 22:44 FlimsyHome5916 I can't find the motivation to keep going
I'm 25. I'm going to lose my job in roughly 6mo and it's completely out of my control.
I've been on 2 dates within the past year since my girlfriend and I brokeup, neither of which materialized into anything. Attempting to date woman has been one of the most soul sucking and demoralizing experiences ever.
None of my former hobbies interest me, and none of the new ones I've tried to take up have stuck with me.
I feel as if I'm growing distant from the few friends I have, and don't understand how to make any new, genuine, long lasting connections. Especially since that will probably be the reality when I need to move to find a new job. & I don't much care for spending time with family.
About a month ago my first grandparent died, and now a second is the hospital with COVID.
I feel so detached from everything. I feel broken. I don't want to keep going and certainly don't know how to beyond 'maning up' and attempting to take all of this in stride alone.
I remember growing up as a kid, looking towards all the adults, envying them, thinking "man, they've got it all figured out, they understand life, it'll be so great when I get to that point!". Now, every year I grow older, I feel like I understand things less and less.
I just want this time to end. I want to be happy again.

2021.12.03 22:44 Vashstampede20 MC hate isn't common as people think
I been thinking for a while after ddlc+ came out. Some people think mc hate is big like it was 4 years ago when the game came out and they think it's happening again because he isn't in the aide stories and you have places like tiktok claiming he's responsible for all the bad things happening just for existing while ignoring that the side stories is not connected to the main game. The hates not huge and in fact i see people outside the sub defend him and the worse people feel about him is indifference.
I'm not arguing about if he's a character or not; it's just something i wanted to get off my chest since i think it's silly how upset i used to get when someone says something bad about him.

2021.12.03 22:44 DixieSinclair CERSEI
The city rang with horns and bugles. A thousand riders with pennons and pennons of Lannister crimson stood at the gates. Behind them came Lannister foot soldiers and archers, all armed and armored. When a Lannister approached the city gates, he came with his own archers on foot and on horseback, to prevent the castle's garrison from escaping. When the Lannister had his archers on the walls, he sent a small detachment inside to make sure that the lords of the town did not seek to flee.
Cersei watched from her position at the battlements. From there, her view was unbroken. She could see what was happening at the foot of the mountains where her brother Stannis was battling against the clans of the Vale. The battle was in full force now. She could see the banner of his kennelmen and the wolf's head of the Baratheons, and it seemed to her that Stannis was running low on men and horses. His men were tired and outnumbered, and the Baratheon horse had a decided advantage in numbers and equipment. To Cersei's eyes, the battle looked lost.
The King's Road began a long arc south and west from the gates of Storm's End, and ran into the vale on a course that would carry him down to the sea, where ships could be put into the water. She could see Stannis' banners from her windows in the castle walls. Two of his banners. The first was the white stags of his House. The second, the Baratheon lion, was the sigil of his sworn enemy, Ser Gregor Clegane, Lord Commander of the Kingsguard. The second banner flew from the castle walls, and she watched as it moved steadily down the hill.
Cersei had taken the oath when she was nine, to serve and protect King Robert until the gods took him to the grave. To be commanded by a man she loathed could not come as a shock. She had been prepared to do as she was told, even as Stannis had his bannermen riding down the road toward her, to take her king and turn her seat over to the brother of the man she had sworn to serve.
But he was her king too. She could not abandon him to the tender mercies of his enemy, even as Stannis could. Cersei was a child no longer. It was not enough to protect Robert, she decided; she would have to rescue him.
It was too late to flee. Cersei watched the banners approach, and knew her husband was still alive. When the two armies met, he would emerge with Gregor, and Gregor would be killed. And it would all be over.
Beneath the banners, Cersei's champion was waiting. A great black ram with the red star of House Lannister on its back. The ram was one of King Robert's beasts, he'd once told her, but Cersei's lion was more noble. The Lannister lion was a gift from the Iron Throne. It was all she could do to keep from smiling.
They stopped some fifty yards from the castle, a hundred of Stannis' knights on horseback, with a similar number of sellswords in their saddles. One of the horsemen turned and took the lead, and as Cersei watched they dismounted and formed a circle, each man with an open palm held forward.
A moment passed, then another. One by one the sellswords and knights took up the same pose, and behind her, she heard the sound of metal on leather. "They're going to kill him," she whispered.
A riderless horse galloped through the ranks of Stannis' men, its black mane streaming out behind. The animal skidded to a halt and stood trembling, quivering. Cersei saw a black and golden cloak draped across its back, like the banners of the golden lions of House Baratheon. "The king," she gasped. "The king! It's... Robert... Robert."
As one, the Lannister soldiers rose from their positions and bowed. No one was armed, but it seemed no one cared. As the sellswords made their obeisance, the rider with the cloak mounted and rode to the center of the circle. A young man, but well-known to Cersei.
"Robert," she said.
His hair was black and long, curling around his shoulders. "You are the queen," he said, with a respectful bow.
She would not have known him. But it was Robert, her Robert. Her husband. "Why do you serve King Stannis?"
"He is our lawful king. The laws of the land have been broken, the Starks are a traitorous house, and the laws of war allow for the execution of traitors."
"Robert. Robert, my husband."
He turned his horse to face her. For a moment he was all a king should be. The years fell away. "Cersei. My wife. Do you forgive me?"
"I forgave you long ago. And now I love you."
They embraced, and Cersei's tears came for joy, for sorrow, for all she had lost. When Robert drew back, he smiled at her. "How do I look?" he asked, straightening his cloak.
"You look like Robert, your grandfather's grandfather's great-grandson, and he was a king."
"I think so too."
Robert raised his fists in salute. When he rode to the head of the column and shouted for the horns, it was not a call to battle, but a cry to war. Across the narrow fields between them and the Stony Shore, other nobles raised their own banners.
The sun was gone by the time the Lannister and Baratheon forces reached the shore. King's Landing was a shadow in the darkness, as if the city had been swallowed by a cloud. But across the bay, fires burned in King's Landing, and men were running.
Robert let his horse carry him along the shore. The first to reach the water were the Baratheon knights, their great warhorses splashing into the surf and dragging heavy greatcoats after them. When his horse plunged into the water, Robert drew his sword and waded into the surf after them, the waves lapping over his calves. If he wanted to die at sea, he would have joined his father at Summerhall. As the waves closed over him, he was glad of his armor.
Across the bay, a second wave was cresting. And a third, and a fourth. Robert turned his horse, and started riding back toward the shore. Some of the lords followed him, and most of the men-at-arms who hadn't run from the river. The Baratheon brothers were with him, Lord Lefford and Ser Hosteen, and Ser Kevan and Lord Alyn. He saw his brother Loras, wearing the silver cloak of his House as well as the golden chain of his golden Lion. His own banner had caught on a branch and was being carried away in the surging water. It did not matter; Robert had the red bear of House Baratheon. He would never part with it, not as long as the world lasted.
"Lord Bolton has sent men to take his niece from us," Ser Kevan told Lord Lefford as the three of them rode along side by side. "Is he mad? She is no prize."
"They don't want to lose her to us."
"We will not have her. If she resists, kill her."
Robert did not have to ask what Lord Lefford meant. Alyn had been the one to lead the attack on Casterly Rock, and none of the men-at-arms had failed to follow him when he galloped out to lead his attack. None had failed to kill, though some had come close.
In his youth, House Lefford had been a lion. Lord Lefford had killed two kings and taken three other monarchs prisoner. Now he was a bear, not much bigger than Casterly Rock. His eyes were red and rheumy, his mouth a flat, bloody slash across his bearded face. He had grown gaunt and gray, with a mane of salt-and-pepper hair and a scarred brow. He rode one-eyed, on a sorrel mare he had never ridden. Robert did not think it possible to be more disreputable.
That was what made him dangerous. No man cared what Lord Lefford had done. They cared about the bear he had become.
The river swirled by, swirling away the castle. Black waters churned as they ate away the broken stone and razed the gardens, the pastures, the woods, the moats, the halls. It swirled away the memories, the friends, the family, the people. Time had no dominion over the flood. It would never stop, not as long as the world lasted.
